Update from yesterday’s A S C meeting in Perth which was followed by the Tamnavoulin Trophy v Area 10, won comfortably by the A S C/R.C.C.C 35-22!

Key points;
17% funding increase to RCCC from Sport Scotland due mainly to recent medal-winning performances.

RCCC are continuing their search for bigger office premises in the central belt having outgrown Cairnie House.

New Head of Coaching will be appointed by the end of the season.

Sponsor found for Indoor Grand Match, which will help enhance the day. Cost per curler budgeted at £30 each.

Entry fees & structure of Scottish Championships to be reviewed.

A decision on whether ‘Mixed Doubles’ will become a new Olympic discipline will be made in April. However, 17 sports are competing for only 1 slot…

Document on ‘Guidelines for Incoming Tours’ has been updated and will be available shortly from the RCCC & online. The ‘New member booklet’ will also be available online shortly.

Draws for national competitions to be made earlier & more transparent.

The review of the A S C and structure continues, with the review group trying to ascertain whether it best serves the grass roots curlers. They are asking that the issue is added to the agenda for Area & Province AGM’s so that members can come back with recommendations & suggestions. To assist in this they will circulate 4 questions that will help focus on the issues needing addressed.
