 Dear Community Representative / User Group Member

Review of Sport, Leisure & Recreation Provision in Moray

I am writing to inform you that we have now completed stage 1 of the above review process which was to inform user groups, community organisations and the public about the background and context behind the need to undertake this review.  We thank those that managed to attend one of the seven community briefing sessions earlier this month, we appreciate the input to date.  Summaries of each of these meetings will be made available in due course.

Stage 2 is now underway which is focused on information gathering.  This will involve desktop research and collation of data from both national and local organisations.  Within stage 2 we have a series of mechanisms in place to ensure communities have the opportunity to participate and these are as follows;

1.We have set up a generic email address, futureleisure@moray.gov.uk for any comments or enquiries in relation to the review.  For those without access to email / internet then please feel free to submit letters of comment / enquiry to the following address;  Review of Sport, Leisure and Recreation Provision, Business Support Unit, Education & Social Care, The Moray Council, High Street, Elgin, IV30 1BX.

1.We have set up a dedicated webpage on the Moray Council website, www.moray.gov.uk.  This page provides a wide range of information on the review and will be regularly updated.  Access to the page can be located by scrolling down on the council’s home page to the Current Consultations section and clicking on the link to Review of Sport, Leisure and Recreation provision.

3.An online survey will be published on Monday 6 January 2014 on the review webpage to enable people to both express their views and to highlight priorities in relation to sport, leisure and recreation facilities.  This survey will remain open until Sunday 2 February.  Paper copies of the survey can be sent out on request by contacting (01343) 563395..Once all the information has been gathered within stage 2 we will start analysing all the data and share this with the steering group, Area Based Review Group and the local community..We will be in further communications with you in due course with future developments.

Yours sincerely

Graham Jarvis
