In Division 1
Alan Campbell maintained his narrow lead over Kenny Oswald with a very tight win over Andy Cameron. Seven singles scored and one blanked end gave a 4-3 win to the Buckie boys.Kenny remains 1 point behind Alan following another tight win over Ryan Mckenzie. A two in the last, against the hammer giving him the slimmest of victories.
Ryan’s Ballindalloch team are now sure to be relegated after a second loss this week, this time to Neil Durno, who , himself won a second match 6-4 against Elgin Tennis Club.
In Division 2
In the second division,Gavin Nicol consolidated his league lead with a close 6-5 win over Bill Jaffrey, a score of four at the third end proving the decisive moment. Abby Duncan’s big win over club mate Ron Christie moves him into second place and sets up a league topping last match with Gavin, although Nicol has a two point lead and a superior shots and ends count.
Eddie Milne lost a tight game against the Sunninghill Mob, Donald Ross coming from 4-2 down to pick up three shots over the last two ends .
In Division 3,
Howard Anstruther maintained his relentless winning record with a ding dong battle against Ross McCulloch.Howard has already guaranteed a league win and promotion, whilst poor Ross’s 100% record guarantees his relegation.
Mike McDonald kept his promotion hopes alight with a 9-6 win over Bob Stewart, and the last round of games will be a straight shootout with club colleague Charlie Watt, for the second promotion spot.
In Division 4, James Carter’s Juniors maintained their second place with a fairly comfortable win over Jim Farquhar, who has slipped into the murk of the relegation zone.
In Division 5
Mike Mckenzie’s win over Linda Hardie guarantees his promotion and 1 more point will give him his thoroughly deserved league win.
