Although not a Moray Province event the event was such a revelation it deserves a posting

I am just back from visiting the above bonspiel and what a buzz it was.

This is the 5th year Andy Cameron has organised this Bonspiel and what a fantastic success it has been this year

Invites for the 20 team event was full with a waiting list and there were curlers there from all over Scotland plus Norway, Switzerland, Spain, and Finland, all produced two teams each.

There was a buzz in the Leisure Centre which has not been seen there for a number of years and I would put that down to three main points,

To Andy and his partner Kirsty for their organisation and enthusiasm for this curling event, the participating curlers and their groupies who filled the bar area to a limit never been seen before and last but by no means least the quality of ice supplied by Allan and Lewis, the ice was a real eye opener there was curl both ways, there was no reverse ice, the pebble lasted the game, all lines and the heads looked as if they had been new painted and in general professionally presented.

Sorry I don’t know the results and to be honest I don’t care the Leisure Centre Ice Rink came of age and hopefully it agers well for the future.

Well done to one and all
