Two Nairn Curlers have been given the tremendous honour of officiating at the Winter Olympics in Sochi Russia in 2014
The World Curling Federation has announced the names of the International Technical Officials (ITOs) who will officiate Winter Games in Sochi, Russia in 2014
Chief Umpire (CU) Alan Stanfield (GBR)
Chief Timer (CT) Harold Forrester (GBR)
In addition to the Olympics in 2014, the above ITOs will also officiate at a test event in Sochi next year:
• World Junior Curling Championships 2013 (Feb 28 – Mar 10) which will act as a test event for the Olympic Winter Games
A very well deserved honour to two dedicated club curlers because of the endless hours of effort they have put in for the sport of curling.
I have spoken to Alan Stanfield for a bit of back ground to this honour they have been given and he has agreed to do that nearer the 2013 event.
