There was a clutch of close games in the latest Moray Province East curling fixtures last week.
In Division 2 Abby Duncan stormed back from a 5-1 deficit to steal a 3 in the last end ,edging out Ron Christie.
In another tight,come from behind match,Gavin Nicol sneaked a win after a sweeping error in the head saw Wilson Burnett’s last stone agonisingly pull up short of Gavin’s perfectly laid draw on a very tricky sheet of ice.
In the other match,Donald Ross was always in control against Eddie Milne’s Darnaway rink.
In the Division 3 Forres clash, Charlie Watt scored a skilful deuce in the last end, for. Atight win against Mike Macdonald , and Howard Anstruther maintained his winning record fairly comfortably against Alastair Grant.
Another very closely fought game saw Bob Stewart just holding on against Ross Mculloch’s very competitive Moray Juniors.

In Division 4, Jim Farquhar was a solid winner over Alastair Maltman and in Division 5, Andrew Allardyce won the Elgin duel against Helen Downey.

 

In the first round of the Ladies knockout, Ann Munro and Nicole Watt were tied at 7-7 after regulation time, with Ann holding last stone in the extra end ,just winning in a nail biting match.
