In the final of the Moray Province Ladies Knockout,Louise Marshall had a convincing win over Ann Munro.
The ends score was even at 4 each, but Louise was clinical in making her ends count bigger, with scores of 3,5 ,4 and 4, whereas Ann only managed a deuce and 3 single shots to make the score 16-5 to the Elgin girls.
In league division 2,Donald Ross pulled away from Fochabers Ron Christie for a comfortable 7-3 win on keen and swinging ice.
In the third division, Charlie Watt consolidated his second place with a win over Alastair Grant’s Elgin rink. Charlie raced to a 7-0 lead after 4 ends, and held off a strong comeback for a 7-4 victory.
In Division 5, Nicole Watt’s Moray Juniors did their promotion prospects no harm with a storming win over Forres’s Linda Hardie. A 5 at the first end and a further 3 at the second eased the way for the high flying Juniors.
Finlay Sutherland’s Juniors however, came a cropper against a dominant Andrew Allardyce, who took 3 fours to ease away to a 14-4 win, and keep his own promotion hopes alive.
As we get to the sharp end of the season, only division 3 ,convincingly, already won by Forres’s Howard Anstruther is decided ,with all the other divisions still competitive and no winners or promotions yet decided.
