Grand Match All Province Curlers
ALAN STEEL ASSET MANAGEMENT
INDOOR GRAND MATCH 2015
What is it?
The Indoor Grand Match occurs every 5 years. It is a match between the North and South of Scotland played across all the Ice Rinks in the Country. Teams travel from all over to play in each Ice Rink. In total Moray Province will welcome 120 curlers to compete at the Moray Leisure Centre.
What can Moray Curlers do to help?
We are needing volunteers to assist with recording the scores, directing guests/visitors and generally being on hand to tidy up and help turn the sheets around between games.
If anyone has an interest in photography we do need to record pictures of the teams for the RCCC so a volunteer would be most welcome.
Why should we get involved?
This is a fantastic advert for our sport and for Morayshire and we all want to extend a warm welcome to visitors so they enjoy their experiences here and hopefully spread the word about our wonderful area. To do this we need to deliver first class hospitality and we can’t do this without support.
At the Ice Rink and the upstairs viewing studio at the Moray Leisure Centre.
There are three sessions during the day. Volunteers can choose to be at the rink the whole day or just part of it.
Session one: Volunteers to be at the rink between 8.30 and 9.00am.
Session two: Volunteers to be at the rink between 11.30 and 12 noon.
Session three: Volunteers to be at the rink between 14.30 and 15.00.
Anyone who wishes to volunteer should let Neil Durno know (07899815587) and, if possible turn up at the Rink on Friday evening at 18.00 to help set up for the event.
What else is on?
In the evening there is a celebration of all that is great about curling – a party! Curling has always been a social sport with a reputation for fun and camaraderie, where friendships are made and the sport is enjoyed in the best manner. With Elgin not having a bar we do not have a chance to meet up socially with fellow curlers so this is our chance.
The Curler’s Party is being held at the Laichmoray Hotel from 19.30 – Midnight. Music, dancing and stovies/veggie option.
Cost – Adults are £10 and under 18 are £4.
Please bring your family and friends along – the more the merrier.
