AS SENT TO PROVINCE MATCH SECRETARIES
Please find attached details of the Bonspiel Entries for the upcoming 2016/17 Curling Season. I would be grateful if you could circulate this around your Province Match Secretaries with returns coming to me by the 5th August.
There are a few changes this season, in the hope of boosting participation in the competitions, firstly the Bookless Quaich will be run as a Mixed Doubles League this season, with games played throughout the early part of the season culminating in Q/F, S/F and Final Matches played in the latter part. Further details will follow once I know the numbers, the early stages will be played in both Inverness and Elgin.
Secondly we will be returning to Elgin Ice Centre for the Johnston & Carmichael on the 22nd October, I hope all provinces will support this.
In addition to the normal Bonspiels, please note that the League Winners Competition will take place on Saturday 1st October in Inverness Ice Centre. Could you please forward on contact details for the skips of the winning and runner up rinks in Division 1 and where applicable, Division 2 rinks. I will then contact them direct.
The Knock-out Winners Competition will take place on Saturday 15th October, again in Inverness. As above if you can give me contact details for winning and runner up rinks I will contact them direct. As there is only likely to be 10 entries for this we can either run it as a full day with three short games or have a later start and play the standard 2 games and finish earlier.
This year the Tamnavoulin Trophy will take place in Perth, each province is invited to enter a rink. Once I know a confirmed date I will circulate it. However in the mean time please can you make arrangements to ensure you have a rink to participate.
